The goal of the Government of Rwanda is to reduce poverty and in turn improve the well being of its population by ensuring equitable access to quality education focusing on combating illiteracy. Recommendations from the Workforce Development Authority(WDA) in Rwanda recommends the acquisition of technical skills by able individuals to ensure that those that are unable to get a university education are able to make a living from the skills they acquire. Camara Rwanda is actively involved in empowering such youth through our apprenticeship program.
Boost for Expansion
Upon his birthday, our board member Frankoliver Lehmann asked not for presents but for a monetary contribution to support the expansion of Camara Rwanda into Burundi. Frankoliver is a chap from SW Germany, the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg.This State has with an entity called SEZ given itself a goal as to promote development in Burundi. First steps have already been taken and by today, a school in Burundi is identified as to work with the Team in Kigali and to build a first computer lab there. It was Frankoliver’s idea to support this build out financially as a birthday present. We will now check where things are to implement this move.
